Perlis

Perlis, the smallest province in Malaysia, has its own set of attractions for the tourists, most of which are natural places. Kangar is the capital of state and all attractions of Perlis are day trips from there. Located in the west coast of peninsular Malaysia, Perlis is known mostly as the transit point to Langkawi.

Kuala Perlis
Kuala Perlis usually serves as entry and exit point to some famous tourist destinations of Thailand like Phuket Island. Boats for Pulau Langkawi in Malaysia are also available from here. While you are in Perlis, savor laksa, a delicious dish of rice noodles served with spiced fish-soup with sliced onions and cucumber.

Arau
Arau was once the capital of local royals. Located just 20 minutes off Kangar, it has some graceful place like Masjid Negeri (State Mosque) and Istana Di-Raja (Royal Palace).

Gua Kelam
Gua Kelam, a 37 kilometer long cave in the limestone hills of Kaki Bukit, sits 26km from Kangar. The cave was once used by the traders but now it is a place mostly ignored by the authorities. However, some adventure loving tourists and locals still visit it.

Tasik Melati
Tasik Melati, a beautiful lake in vicinity of Kangar, is a nice place for a day trip. Hundreds of sandbar-islands are scattered all over the lake. People reach these tiny islands on sampans and have their lunch or snacks there

Snake Farm
A good number of snakes have been kept at the snake farm. The place is used primarily for develop treatments for snake bites.

Gunung Medan
Gunung Medan is a place for some adventure-like things. A 300-feet-high limestone outcrop, Gunung Medan is accessible on car or on foot. The car climbs the hill on a winding road while for the people on foot, stairways have been made.

Padang Besar
A favorite market for the locals, Padang Besar is a place to purchase electrical items, clothes and leather goods.
