Penang Hill Resort

Penang Hill Resort, a group of hills in Penang, is located six kilometers from the city centre of George Town. At an elevation of 833 m (2,723 ft), it is pretty cooler than the city. Penang Hill Resort is also known as Bukit Bandara, on the name of its most developed peak. Penang Hill is a nice place to spend a couple of hours during your holiday with your family and friends.

You can decide to pass your time experiencing the flora of Penang Hills having interesting plants like Dipterocarp forest, parasitic plant, Exorhopalia Ruficeps, and Hazel Maingaya Malayana. In the forest covering the hill, one can find animals like wild boars and monkeys. At the souvenir shops, you can purchase keepsakes.

Getting to Penang Hill
Take a half-hour cable train ride up from the Air Hitam railway station, which is in itself quite an experience. Admirers of nature can take a six-kilometre hike up by nature trails accessible from the Botanical Gardens. You could also take a four-wheeled vehicle but it is the least popular choice. The cable train journey is the most popular way to reach up the hill.
