Sulawesi

Sulawesi in Indonesia, consisting of four Indonesian peninsulas, is criss-crossed with verdant mountains and ringed by coral reefs. Lore Lindu National Park
Lore Lindu National Park is the best place to enjoy jungle trekking and wildlife during Sulawesi travel. The park has excellent variety of flora and fauna. You can see some extraordinary animals in the park. Babirusa is a pig-like creature with upward-curving tusks. Anoa is a rare pygmy buffalo resembling an antelope. Different varieties of black macaques can also be seen.

Togian Islands
Bestowed with compelling with natural beauty, Togian Islands are very good places to enjoy games like diving and watch abundant marine life. It is one of the few places in Indonesia where you can see creatures like saltwater crocodile and gigantic coconut crab. Only way to reach Togian Islands is by ferry. When coming from Manado, take the ferry from Gorontalo. Ferry also ply from Ampana. As for accommodation, you can find some nice cottages.

Bunaken National Marine Park
Bunaken National Marine Park is a treasure trove of marine life. The park, including the five islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain and Siladen, is known for its aquatic ecosystem. Although each of these islands has a special character, it is the aquatic ecosystem that attracts most naturalists. Waters are pretty deep here and temperatures refreshing. You can enjoy anything: fish, corals, sponges. The park has plenty of coral and fish variety. More than 2,500 species of fish can be found in the park. Bangka Island
Bangka Island, located off Northern Sulawesi, has several world-class diving locations. For the lovers of marine life, the resort is a nice place to visit. Encompassing four islands in the chain, it offers every level of diving experience. Under water, one can see creatures like tuna, mackerel, and spotted eagle rays. The sea here has abundance of soft corals. As for accommodation, some nice cottages are located here.

Lembeh Strait
Lembeh Strait, located a couple of hours from Manado, is another place for enjoying diving experience. However, it is more known for muck diving, which means diving to explore creatures living in muck.

Megaliths
Valleys of Central Sulawesi in Indonesia host thousand year old megaliths. How these large monoliths came into being is still unknown.

Ujung Padang
